![]() ![]() Conclusion: Evaluation of iTrace images is a reliable method to follow eyes with IOL subluxation. Results: The patient's left eye was followed for 7 months, and IOL position was noted to be stable. IOL position was evaluated with respect to the pupil, the pupil center and the corneal vertex. ray-tracing aberrometry (iTrace), scanning-slit topography (Orbscan). Topographies were captured using the Placido based corneal topographer mounted on the same device. Corneal topography describes measurements of the curvature of the cornea. By integrating wavefront aberrometry with Placido disk corneal topography, the iTrace Combination Ray Tracing Aberrometer/ Topographer provides an analysis. The device conducts measurement in several places at the same time in order to create a topogram, which allows to achieve high accuracy. Where Corneal topographs are Used It is designed to examine the cornea and determine the degree of curvature. By integrating corneal topography with wavefront aberrometry, the iTrace provides a unique analysis that substracts corneal from total aberrations in order. It uses the ray-tracing principle, sequentially projecting 256 near-infrared laser beams into the eye in a specific scanning pattern parameter detection takes less than 200ms. A corneal topographer is a measuring ophthalmic equipment used to conduct corneal topography. The subluxated IOLs edge was visible through infrared light retroillumination. The aberrometer iTrace was used for the wavefront analysis. How it’s done: Placido disc (topography): Evaluates the cornea based on the reflection of concentric rings (mires). The images were captured with an infrared camera, and the pupil, the pupil center and the corneal vertex could be detected. 1) Corneal to p ography is a non-invasive imaging technique for mapping the surface curvature and shape of the anterior corneal surface. Right eye was operated for IOL exchange and left eye was followed with the iTrace images. (PDF) Comparison of the Orbscan II topographer and the iTrace aberrometer for the measurements of keratometry and corneal diameter in myopic patients Comparison of the Orbscan II topographer. He presented with bilateral IOL subluxation, more severe in his right eye. ![]() ![]() Tracey Technologies adapted this technology to objectively measure the total refractive power of the eye. Methods: The patient had undergone phacoemulsification with IOL implantation for congenital cataract 15 years before. THE SCIENCE Behind the iTrace The iTrace uses the principle of ray tracing that was developed from space and defense industry applications to track satellites and missiles. Purpose: To report a 36-year-old patient with intraocular lens (IOL) subluxation that was followed for IOL stability with evaluation of images captured with the iTrace combined aberrometer/topographer. Tracey Technologies develops and manufactures the iTraceTM Ray Tracing Aberrometer and Corneal Topographer. ![]()
